How the journey of Sattvah began – “Once upon a time…”
Once a upon a time, in South East Asia, in the country of the Philippines, in the year 2007, the Bodhisattva of Great Compassion Guan Yin (aka Avaloketishvara) made her Presence known to two individuals – David and Claudine. Guan Yin inspired and guided them to open a meditation & healing center. They named the center Sattvah in honor of their guide and patron. The word “Sattvah” is taken from Guan Yin’s title of “Bodhisattva”. The meaning and energy behind the word means “Truth.”
Sattvah’s early days were not easy. Like any startup, there were difficulties, speed bumps, and opportunities missed like any other fledgling venture. At times they felt as if it was only the two of them against the world. Despite the challenges and setbacks, Guan Yin was always present. It was during these times that the lessons of gratitude, grace, fortitude, patience, and allowing were learned.
In time, people were guided to them to collaborate for the agenda of the Celestial Hosts of which Guan Yin is a part of. From there, a community of kindred spirits grew. New friends and relationships became their refuge and treasure. There were still challenges though. In spite of the trials, they felt that they were not alone anymore; and they bore witness to miracles by Guan Yin and her Celestial team.
This is the story of Sattvah’s ongoing evolution. This is also the story of many who choose an unconventional path; borne of inspiration, yearning and forged by a Truth that burned from within. It is a story of transcending inner and outer trails for a Higher Cause. And the journey continues.
There is a wealth of information about Guan Yin in the internet. We encourage interested seekers to visit the many sites that expound on her. Key words to Google could be: “Guan Yin, Kuan Yin, Avaloketishvara, Chenrezig.”
You don’t have to be hard core Buddhist. If you just might have an affinity Guan Yin, and/or just feel the urge to seek out Who-You-Truly-Are, you’re welcome to join us on the journey.
